Amy Winehouse
As a fan of Amy Winehouse who passed away two days ago, I thought it would be nice to write this post in her memory.
One of the presents I got for my seventeenth birthday a few years ago was the deluxe version of Amy’s Back to Black, which shortly afterwards granted her 5 Grammy awards (out of 6 nominations in total, respect). I remember thinking to myself back then that it was snazzy,...

Whole Foods
Just like their food, Whole Foods’ logo is all about quality versus quantity. While the typeface used is not a catch (and that is to say the least), turning one of the Os into a… fruit of some sort, and sticking to this almost mossy green totally work. (Art) School Logos
I’m an art school transfer applicant, give me a break.

The Google Logo
When quality of services and popularity compensate for lack of taste.
Update, July 10:
Drop the emboss, get rid of the shadow and use more vivid shades for each of your letters. No emboss=better black & white version. As I started writing this post I really hated the typeface (Catull Regular), but now I think there’s something almost endearing about it.
